Bookkeeping for trades and small businesses in Ireland
We keep your Xero, QuickBooks or Sage up to date, have your VAT figures ready before each deadline, and hand your accountant clean books at the end of the year. Three published tiers, from €250 a month.
Who it is for
Your accountant stays your accountant. We do the part in between.
Electricians, plumbers, builders and subcontractors
- RCT deducted by a main contractor matched to the payment it came off, so the record your accountant needs is complete
- Reverse-charge invoices from subcontractors recorded the way Revenue expects them
- Work coded to the right VAT rate — 13.5% for most construction services, and the goods rate when materials are more than two-thirds of the price
- Builders’ merchant statements reconciled against what you were actually invoiced
- Fuel cards, van costs and tool purchases matched to the bank line that paid them
Small businesses
- Sales and purchase invoices entered, and supplier statements reconciled
- Card-machine and online-payment payouts matched to the sales behind them
- A clear view of who owes you and what you owe, without logging in yourself
- VAT figures for each period ready before the deadline, not the night before
What it costs
Three tiers, priced in the open
Each tier includes a number of bank lines a month. One line on a bank or card statement is one transaction — so you can count it yourself and check every bill. A busy month is €1 a line over the allowance.

Stays with your accountant
What we do not do
- — Filing anything with Revenue — we prepare the VAT figures, you or your accountant submit them
- — Paying anyone from your accounts — we prepare the payment run, you approve it and press pay
- — Payroll
- — RCT notifications
- — Year-end accounts, tax returns or CRO returns
- — Tax advice
We keep the books. Your accountant files, advises and signs off, exactly as now — just from books that are already done.
How it works
Nothing to switch, and the same person every time
- 1
You add us to your software
Invite us as a user on your Xero, QuickBooks or Sage. Nothing to install or switch, and you can remove us whenever you like.
- 2
You send the paper as it arrives
Photograph a receipt or forward a bill by email. No shoebox at the end of the year.
- 3
We keep the books up to date
Every bank line reconciled and matched — monthly, weekly or twice a week depending on the tier — by the same person every time, with a report to you after.
- 4
Your accountant gets clean books
VAT figures ready for each period, and at year end a set of books your accountant can work from rather than rebuild.
Books behind before your tax return?
The 2025 Form 11 is due on 31 October 2026, or 18 November if you pay and file on ROS. If your books are not ready for your accountant, we can bring them up to date first, on a fixed quote agreed before we start.
Questions
What people ask first
- What is the difference between a bookkeeper and an accountant?
- A bookkeeper keeps the records: every bank line reconciled, invoices and receipts entered, VAT figures prepared. An accountant uses those records to prepare year-end accounts and tax returns, files them, and advises you. We do the first part and hand clean books to your accountant, who keeps doing the second.
- Do I have to change accounting software?
- No. We work in your own Xero, QuickBooks or Sage, as a user you invite and can remove at any time. If you are on something else, ask us.
- Do you file my VAT return?
- No. We prepare the VAT figures for each period so they are ready before the deadline, and you or your accountant submit the return on ROS. We do not file anything with Revenue.
- Do you handle RCT?
- We reconcile every payment with RCT deducted from it, so the record of what was taken and by whom is complete. RCT notifications to Revenue stay with you or your accountant — we do not make them.
- What counts as a transaction?
- One line on a bank or card statement. The receipt or invoice behind that line is not counted again, and a transfer between your own accounts counts once. You can count the lines yourself, so you can check every bill.
- My books are months behind. Can you still help?
- Yes. We bring the backlog up to date first, on a fixed quote agreed before we start, and then keep it there. See catch-up bookkeeping.
- Do you do payroll?
- No. Payroll is reported to Revenue on every pay date, and we do not file with Revenue.
- Who actually does the work?
- David O Mahony, every time — the reconciliation, the reports and the handover to your accountant. The person who rings you back is the person in your books.
