Is your Sage hiding a mess?
Bank accounts not reconciled since the spring. Money sitting in Suspense and Mispostings. Receipts never allocated to the invoices they paid. It rarely shows on your dashboard — it shows up when your accountant finds it, and bills you for the time.
Send us four standard reports. Within two working days you get a one-page list of every problem we find, and how to fix each one. Free, no login, and yours to keep.
What we check
Ten things that commonly go wrong in a Sage file
Most of them do not show on your dashboard. They show up at year end, when your accountant has to unpick them — and that time is on your bill.
- 01
Bank accounts that have not been reconciled
Every bank, card and cash account, and the last date each was reconciled. Unreconciled months are where errors hide.
- 02
Money in Suspense (9998)
Transactions posted to Suspense because nobody knew where they went, and how long they have been sitting there.
- 03
Money in Mispostings (9999)
Corrections that went to Mispostings and were never sorted out — Sage's own sign that something was posted wrong.
- 04
Receipts and payments never allocated
Customer receipts and supplier payments sitting “on account” instead of against the invoices they paid, so both sides of the ledger look wrong.
- 05
Duplicate transactions
The same payment posted twice — often a bank import and a manual entry for the same thing.
- 06
Old unpaid invoices
Invoices over 90 days: some genuinely overdue, some probably paid long ago and never allocated. We flag which look like which.
- 07
Negative cash and petty cash
Cash or petty cash accounts below zero — impossible in real life, and a sure sign of missing or misposted transactions.
- 08
Opening balances left in Suspense
Set-up balances that went to Suspense and never moved, which your accountant will have to unpick at year end.
- 09
Missing or doubtful VAT codes
Transactions on the wrong tax code — standard, zero or outside the scope mixed up — or, for trades, 13.5% and 23% confused.
Needs the invite or screen-share route.
- 10
Data errors and backups (Sage 50)
Whether Sage 50's own data check finds errors, and when the company was last backed up. On a desktop install, a dead laptop can take the books with it.
Needs the invite or screen-share route.
What you get back
One page, in plain English
- — A score for each of the ten checks: fine, worth a look, or needs fixing.
- — The euro figure wherever there is one: how much is sitting in Suspense and Mispostings, how much is unallocated, how much is owed to you and for how long.
- — The three fixes that matter most, in order, so you can do them yourself if you want to.
- — Your bank lines per month, so you know exactly what ongoing bookkeeping would cost, if you ever want it.
We find it. You decide what to do about it.
The health check identifies problems; it does not change anything in your books. Every finding comes with how to fix it, so you can do it yourself. If you would rather not, we can quote to do it for you — and you can say no.
How it works

And after that
Nothing, unless you want it
Free
The health check
Your report: every problem we find, scored, with the three that matter most and how to fix them. Yours to keep, whatever you decide.
One-off
Fix it yourself — or have it fixed
The report tells you what to fix and how, so you can do it yourself. If you would rather not, we can do it for you on a fixed quote, agreed before anything starts.
Monthly
Keep it that way
Your books kept clean every month, week or twice a week, depending on the tier. The report already tells you which one fits.
Monthly bookkeeping starts from €250 a month. See the tiers.
Questions
Before you send anything
- Is it really free?
- Yes. The check finds the problems and tells you how to fix them, and the report is yours to keep. Fixing them is up to you — do it yourself, or, if you would rather we did it, we quote a fixed price first and you can say no.
- Do I have to give you access to Sage?
- No. You can send four standard reports instead, and we never log in. On Sage Accounting you can also invite us as your accountant; on Sage 50 we look with you on a short screen-share instead — that is how we check VAT codes, data errors and backups. We change nothing either way.
- What happens to my data?
- We use the reports only to write your health check, and delete them once it is sent. We may use an AI tool to help read them; the provider does not use them to train its models. Our privacy notice has the details.
- Sage 50 or Sage Accounting?
- Either. The checks are the same apart from data errors and backups, which only matter on Sage 50 because it lives on your own computer.
- Is this tax advice?
- No. It tells you the state of your books — what is reconciled, what is not, what is missing. Your accountant advises on tax, and the report is something you can hand them.
