What is your bank statement telling you?

Drop in a CSV of your bank transactions. In a few seconds you get your regular payees as a bank rules list you can download, any possible double charges, and how many lines a month your books really have.

See what you get back before using your own file.

Questions

About the bank statement check

Is my statement uploaded anywhere?
No. Your browser reads the file on your own computer and works everything out there. Nothing is sent to us or anyone else, nothing is stored, and closing the tab clears it. The results are also kept out of the session recordings this site uses to see which pages work.
How do I get a CSV from my bank?
In your online banking, open the account's transactions, choose the period — three to six months is ideal — and look for Export or Download. Pick CSV rather than PDF or Excel. Business and personal online banking at the Irish banks, and Revolut, all offer it.
Can I use an export from QuickBooks, Xero or Sage instead?
Yes. A transaction export from your accounting software works the same way, and if it has an account column we also show how much is coded to accounts like Suspense, Uncategorised or General Expenses.
What do I do with the bank rules list?
Set each one up as a bank rule in your accounting software, so those lines arrive already coded. Our bank rules guide covers where they live in QuickBooks, Xero and Sage, and the mistakes to avoid.
Is this tax advice?
No. Suggested accounts are a starting point for coding your books, not advice on what you can claim. Your accountant advises on tax.
