Free health check · Xero · Ireland

Is your Xero hiding a mess?

Hundreds of bank lines waiting to reconcile. A Xero balance that does not match the bank. Payments coded to Suspense to deal with later. It rarely shows on your dashboard — it shows up when your accountant finds it, and bills you for the time.

Send us four standard reports. Within two working days you get a one-page list of every problem we find, and how to fix each one. Free, no login, and yours to keep.

Illustrative example. Not a real business.

What we check

Ten things that commonly go wrong in a Xero file

Most of them do not show on your dashboard. They show up at year end, when your accountant has to unpick them — and that time is on your bill.

  1. 01

    Bank lines waiting to reconcile

How many lines are sitting unreconciled on each bank and card account, and how old the oldest is. Xero shows the count; most people stop looking at it.

  2. 02

    Xero not matching the bank

The difference between your statement balance and Xero's balance. If they disagree, something is missing, duplicated or deleted — and every report built on it is wrong.

  3. 03

    Money coded to Suspense

Transactions parked in Suspense to deal with later, and how long they have been sitting there.

  4. 04

    Spending dumped in catch-all accounts

Costs coded to General Expenses or Sundry because nobody knew where they went — so your profit by category is a guess.

  5. 05

    Duplicate transactions

The same payment in twice — a bank feed line and a manually entered one, or a bill paid and then reconciled again as a spend money.

  6. 06

    Old unpaid invoices

Invoices over 90 days: some genuinely overdue, some probably paid long ago and never matched. We flag which look like which.

  7. 07

Overpayments, prepayments and credit notes left unallocated

Money in and credits sitting unapplied, which make both what you are owed and what you have been paid look wrong.

  8. 08

    Historical Adjustment and conversion balances

Balances left in Historical Adjustment or from the move to Xero, which your accountant will have to unpick at year end.

  9. 09

    Missing or doubtful VAT rates

Transactions with no tax rate, or one that looks wrong for the kind of spend — for trades, 13.5% and 23% mixed up.

    Needs the adviser-invite route.

  10. 10

    Bank rules

How many you have, and whether they still code things correctly. Usually none, which means every line is coded by hand.

    Needs the adviser-invite route.

What you get back

One page, in plain English

  • — A score for each of the ten checks: fine, worth a look, or needs fixing.
  • — The euro figure wherever there is one: the gap between your bank and Xero, how much is sitting in Suspense, how much is owed to you and for how long.
  • — The three fixes that matter most, in order, so you can do them yourself if you want to.
  • — Your bank lines per month, so you know exactly what ongoing bookkeeping would cost, if you ever want it.

We find it. You decide what to do about it.

The health check identifies problems; it does not change anything in your books. Every finding comes with how to fix it, so you can do it yourself. If you would rather not, we can quote to do it for you — and you can say no.

How it works

No login needed. Four reports and two working days.

1. Leave your details below

We reply the same working day with where to send the reports.

2. Export these from Xero

  • — Balance Sheet · As of today

3. Get your report

Within two working days, by email. David goes through it with you on a short call if you want one.

4. We delete your reports

Once your health check is sent, the reports you sent us are deleted. See our privacy notice.

And after that

Nothing, unless you want it

  1. Free

    The health check

Your report: every problem we find, scored, with the three that matter most and how to fix them. Yours to keep, whatever you decide.

  2. One-off

Fix it yourself — or have it fixed

The report tells you what to fix and how, so you can do it yourself. If you would rather not, we can do it for you on a fixed quote, agreed before anything starts.

  3. Monthly

    Keep it that way

Your books kept clean every month, week or twice a week, depending on the tier. The report already tells you which one fits.

Monthly bookkeeping starts from €250 a month. See the tiers.

Questions

Before you send anything

Is it really free?
Yes. The check finds the problems and tells you how to fix them, and the report is yours to keep. Fixing them is up to you — do it yourself, or, if you would rather we did it, we quote a fixed price first and you can say no.
Do I have to give you access to Xero?
No. You can send four standard reports instead, and we never log in. Inviting us as an adviser user is optional — it lets us also check your VAT rates and bank rules. We change nothing, and you can remove us in one click.
What happens to my data?
We use the reports only to write your health check, and delete them once it is sent. We may use an AI tool to help read them; the provider does not use them to train its models. Our privacy notice has the details.
Do you work with QuickBooks or Sage too?
Yes — there is a health check for each, and the monthly service works in all three. If you are on something else, ask us anyway.
Is this tax advice?
No. It tells you the state of your books — what is reconciled, what is not, what is missing. Your accountant advises on tax, and the report is something you can hand them.
