Is your QuickBooks hiding a mess?
Accounts not reconciled since the summer. Payments stuck in Undeposited Funds. Expenses nobody coded. It rarely shows on your dashboard — it shows up when your accountant finds it, and bills you for the time.
Send us four standard reports. Within two working days you get a one-page list of every problem we find, and how to fix each one. Free, no login, and yours to keep.
What we check
Ten things that commonly go wrong in a QuickBooks file
Most of them do not show on your dashboard. They show up at year end, when your accountant has to unpick them — and that time is on your bill.
- 01
Accounts that have not been reconciled
Every bank and card account, and the last date each was reconciled. Unreconciled months are where errors hide.
- 02
Money parked in Undeposited Funds
Payments marked as received but never matched to a bank deposit — the most common QuickBooks mess, and it overstates your income.
- 03
Uncategorised income and expenses
Transactions recorded but never coded, so your profit figure is a guess.
- 04
The “Ask My Accountant” pile
Items parked to sort out later, and how long they have been sitting there.
- 05
Duplicate transactions
The same payment entered twice — usually a bank feed and a manual entry for the same thing.
- 06
Old unpaid invoices
Invoices over 90 days: some genuinely overdue, some probably paid long ago and never matched. We flag which look like which.
- 07
Unapplied payments and credits
Customer payments and credit notes sitting unmatched, which make both what you are owed and what you have been paid look wrong.
- 08
Opening balance and suspense entries
Balances left in Opening Balance Equity or suspense accounts from set-up, which your accountant will have to unpick at year end.
- 09
Missing or doubtful VAT codes
Transactions with no VAT code, or a rate that looks wrong for the kind of spend — for trades, 13.5% and 23% mixed up.
Needs the accountant-invite route.
- 10
Bank rules
How many you have. Usually none, which means every line is coded by hand, every month.
Needs the accountant-invite route.
What you get back
One page, in plain English
- — A score for each of the ten checks: fine, worth a look, or needs fixing.
- — The euro figure wherever there is one: how much is sitting in Undeposited Funds, how much is uncategorised, how much is owed to you and for how long.
- — The three fixes that matter most, in order, so you can do them yourself if you want to.
- — Your bank lines per month, so you know exactly what ongoing bookkeeping would cost, if you ever want it.
We find it. You decide what to do about it.
The health check identifies problems; it does not change anything in your books. Every finding comes with how to fix it, so you can do it yourself. If you would rather not, we can quote to do it for you — and you can say no.
How it works
No login needed. Four reports and two working days.
1. Leave your details below
We reply the same working day with where to send the reports.
2. Export these from QuickBooks
- — Balance Sheet · As of today
- — Transaction List by Date · Last 3 months, exported to Excel
- — Accounts receivable ageing detail · As of today
- — Reconciliation reports · The most recent one for each bank and card account
3. Get your report
Within two working days, by email. David goes through it with you on a short call if you want one.
4. We delete your reports
Once your health check is sent, the reports you sent us are deleted. See our privacy notice.
And after that
Nothing, unless you want it
Free
The health check
Your report: every problem we find, scored, with the three that matter most and how to fix them. Yours to keep, whatever you decide.
One-off
Fix it yourself — or have it fixed
The report tells you what to fix and how, so you can do it yourself. If you would rather not, we can do it for you on a fixed quote, agreed before anything starts.
Monthly
Keep it that way
Your books kept clean every month, week or twice a week, depending on the tier. The report already tells you which one fits.
Monthly bookkeeping starts from €250 a month. See the tiers.
Questions
Before you send anything
- Is it really free?
- Yes. The check finds the problems and tells you how to fix them, and the report is yours to keep. Fixing them is up to you — do it yourself, or, if you would rather we did it, we quote a fixed price first and you can say no.
- Do I have to give you access to QuickBooks?
- No. You can send four standard reports instead, and we never log in. Inviting us as your accountant user is optional — it lets us also check your VAT codes and bank rules, and you can remove us in one click.
- What happens to my data?
- We use the reports only to write your health check, and delete them once it is sent. We may use an AI tool to help read them; the provider does not use them to train its models. Our privacy notice has the details.
- Do you work with Xero or Sage too?
- Yes — there is a health check for each, and the monthly service works in all three. If you are on something else, ask us anyway.
- Is this tax advice?
- No. It tells you the state of your books — what is reconciled, what is not, what is missing. Your accountant advises on tax, and the report is something you can hand them.
